Todd's rating:

"Balls-deep in his hookup, Rohan Lawrence-Decker chased, not after orgasm, but the need to escape thoughts of Duke."

That was the very first line in the book and it grabbed my attention big time.

Then, as I continued reading, this turned out to be the sexiest Anyta Sunday story that I've EVER read.

Plus, the MC's were also second cousins, so there was a bit of extra added taboo as a steamy, forbidden love twist.

At 30, Rohan was on the fast track in life, slated to take over as the head of Duke's father's highly-successful Internet company and start a family of his own.

But at 22, Duke was much less focused in what he wanted to do with his life, but passing the time with frequent hookups, garnering him a reputation as a bit of a promiscuous, spoiled brat.

While the two had once been extremely close, that had recently changed, which Rohan assumed was due to Duke being passed over by his father to run the company, in favor of Rohan, but things are never quite as they seem when attraction comes into play.

To mask his true feelings toward his cousin, Duke had gotten into the habit of using flirty comments and sexual innuendo to keep Rohan at arm's length, which worked for a year, then Rohan had had enough and decided to work through the weirdness affecting their friendship.

Extra steam aside, this story had all of the ear-markings of your normal Anyta Sunday slow burn romance. MC's with a past shared history, mutual hidden desires, and a fair amount of feels.

I don't want to get too spoilery, so I'll just say that I enjoyed the snark and the banter between the two MC's, especially the first 75% of the story, where the guys went from somewhat-estranged to feeling closer once again.

The story ends with an HEA, but the ending felt a tad bit rushed for my tastes, especially when the rest of the story had close to perfect pacing.

The feel of the story was fairly light, with a minimum of angst, so I'd rate this story at 4 stars and recommend it to those looking for a feel-good, steamy, and slightly taboo read.
