Exclusive Excerpt - Alex witnesses something surprising…
Alex had seen Tanner naked countless times before, but he’d never seen this.
“Argh!” Tanner hunched again, and Alex saw the muscles move further down his back, wrapping around his spine and snapping something in the process, almost serpentine in its movements. He could hear Tanner’s bones cracking, muscles elongating, veins protruding. Tanner hunched in front of him, doubled over in pain.
“What the fuck is going on here?”
“The water…” Tanner panted, his trembling hands clinging harder onto his desk. Everything on it had been swept onto the floor, and the study was in utter chaos. “In the jug…bring it to me.”
Alex ran over to the jug of water on the shelf above a chest of drawers. Shaking, he brought it to Tanner’s side. Tanner dropped to his knees, still holding onto the desk for support, pain ripping through his body.
“Pour it…onto my back… Yes…yes, like that.”
Alex poured the entire contents of the jug onto Tanner’s back. At first, he thought the water had to have been scalding hot. Tanner’s back sizzled and turned violently red, the writhing appearing more vicious than it had a moment ago, more protuberant. But then the squirming settled, Tanner’s body slackened, and he was able to drag himself up from the floor.
Dumbstruck, Alex watched Tanner drag his shirt back on, slowly button it up, and drop into his chair as if he were a bag of bones.
“Not a word—to anyone.”

Author Bio
Katze Snow never learned when to shut up. Food and coffee are what encourage Katze to function in a semi-normal, sort of socially acceptable way. Doses of sarcasm and sass are what she lives for, and her wolf, Kiba, who is Katze's little furbaby. She's been writing since she was a child, but finally published her debut novel, Alpha's Bane, in Autumn 2016.
