Shatterproof Bonds #2
Pulled into a world of secrets and lies for the man he loves, Declan Ramsay’s life has changed immeasurably in the eight months since meeting, and falling for his boss’s son, Sam Aiken. Declan journey of personal discovery is about to take a darker turn, and for Sam, the world becomes more treacherous than he could ever have imagined.
Two agents are missing -- presumed dead, while on a reconnaissance mission at an outdoor adventure centre in the Scottish Highlands. Sir James Aiken sends his son and Declan to follow the trail, and discover the fate of the agents.
As the mission offers his first chance to use the skills he learned on the MI6 training course in Morocco, Declan is keen to get started. However, Sir James sees to it that the seeds of doubt and discord have been sewn between the couple, as they begin their mission.
The journey to their Highland location, and the discoveries they make when they reach the G’wan Adventures centre, prove that Sir James Aiken has been less than honest with his son. Events in the Highlands force Sam and Declan to face their greatest fears, and understand what they both really want from life -- and from each other.
“C’mon, duty calls. Shower quick, I’ll choose yer clothes.”
Reluctantly, Sam rushed into their bedroom and into the en suite bathroom. Declan strolled behind, and through to their walk-in dressing room. He perused the racks of clothing, now rearranged to make space for Sam’s belongings. Everything was organized in a regimental fashion — on hangers, folded, and ironed. Declan selected a smart navy blue suit, and pastel blue shirt, he then chose matching pastel blue socks, underwear and a grey silk tie. They would look rather dapper for Declan’s first official meeting as an A.L.L operative.
“Ye better no’ be jerkin’ off in there” Declan hollered towards the bathroom.
The underwear he’d chosen had been printed with the groin of Michelangelo’s ‘David’ sculpture. From behind, they pictured a wonderful stone sculpted arse, and in-front they displayed the statues tiny pre-pubescent genitals. Declan snickered. It would give him great satisfaction to think of Sam wearing these while meeting with Sir James. Declan caught his smiling reflection in the mirror. At light-hearted moments like this, he didn’t recognize the insular, melancholic man he’d been less than a year ago. The change was remarkable, and it was all because of Samuel Aiken.
As soon as he’d assembled all of the garments, Declan placed the suit and shirt on a hook beside the free standing, full-length mirror, and placed the accessories on the dresser beside it. Sam reappeared, his sandy hair dripping wet. He roughly dried himself with a white fluffy towel as he walked.
“C’mere” Declan beckoned. Sam tossed the towel to him, and then reached for the underwear.
“Excellent choice” he tittered and swiftly stepped into them. Declan stepped up and draped the towel over Sam’s head. He gave his hair a firm rub, and then pulled the towel back a little to see Sam’s face, his cheeks and pouty lips flushed.
The intimacy of having his hair dried made Sam’s skin tingle from head to toe. He leaned in for a chaste kiss and then Declan said, “Quick smart. I’m timing ye… three minutes, soldier!”
Declan backed off and sat in a blocky leather, boutique hotel style chair, he crossed his legs and observed Sam donning socks, then stepping into the suit trousers and shrugging on the pale shirt. Declan was delighted with his garment choices. And as Sam threaded his arms into the suit jacket, Declan rose and joined him again to fix his buttons and tie, while Sam quickly styled his hair. Last, were the shiny brown brogues from the orderly, shared shoe rack. Sam was dashing and dressed to kill.
“Looks good, y’know if this spy lark doesn’t work out, you can be my personal shopper!” Sam joked as he preened. Declan’s mouth twitched into a smile of approval.
