Review Policy

Per FTC regulations, please note that books reviewed by Sandra or Heather on this blog were either received for free directly or via Netgalley or Edelweiss from the publisher, directly for free from the author, or books I purchased myself.

Reviews are not promised in exchange for the books, though we will do our best to review each book we receive. Books received directly from authors or their agents that we are unable to finish, for whatever reason, will not be reviewed on this blog unless the author requests it. We reserve the right to decline review requests at any time.

All posted reviews, unless specifically identified as guest reviews, are our opinion and mine alone. No monies are exchanged for reviews, nor expected. Any links listed on this blog pointing to purchase options for any books reviewed on this blog are for reader convenience purposes only and do not constitute a marketing relationship between us and the bookseller(s), nor an endorsement of the book. This blog is not for profit.

We retain all review copies received. None of them are given away, shared or otherwise distributed to any third parties, unless we are specifically directed to do so by the author or publisher.

We promise the following:

1. Always fair, always honest. Gushing and/or snark are dependent on the quality of the book in question.

2. All review requests will be handled in the order they were received. Review requests from authors require a copy of the book in epub format. Every effort will be made to review your book as quickly as possible, but no guarantees are given for any specific dates. Reading and blogging about books are our hobbies - we do not get paid, nor do we ask for or require compensation.

3. Our rating system follows the rating system on Goodreads.

Not the book for me. I didn't like it at all. 

It was okay. Some parts didn't work for me. Borrow it if you can.

    I liked it well enough to see what else this author has written.


     Excellent read! Would definitely recommend it.

     Loved it! Take it with you to a deserted island to read it again and again.



4. All reviews posted on this blog, other than guest reviews, will link back to the book and author pages at Goodreads.

The Review Request queue lists only books we have received directly from authors who contacted me for a book review. The queue does not include any books we received as ARCs from publishers via NetGalley and/or  Edelweiss.
