Two hot roommates, minus clothes, plus a drawer full of debauchery, and a WHOLE lot of tension. You don’t have to be a math genius to figure out the sum of that equation.
They say I’m a super genius, but would a super genius make the outrageously stupid mistake of falling for his roommate? Out of all the men in the world, I had to go and develop a crush on the one who’s already in love with his best friend.
But when Theo tells me he found my drawer of toys, the only logical thing to do is to offer some no-strings fun. I’ve read enough romance novels to know this can’t possibly end well, but I can’t seem to stop myself from falling for Theo. The only question is…
Will he be there to catch me?
Ky's rating:
Sweet and sexy story about two roommates deciding to try celibacy because they both use sex as a way to feel less lonely and then deciding to try a friends with benefits arrangement together. What could go wrong, right?
It turns out, nothing. Everything went according to plan except for the part where they forgot to leave the feeling outside of the arrangement. But since both of them forgot, it was a win-win situation.
Theo is in love with his best friend who also, recently, became his brother's boyfriend, so if he wants to keep them both in his life he has to learn how to be okay with seeing them together.
Alex is an extemely smart guy, working on a PhD that he finds ridiculously easy and doesn't interest him in the slightest, just because he thinks that's the path he has to take in his life.
They have mutual friends so they end up sharing a house and as they get to know each other they become friends.
By the Numbers is a low-angst, cute story and there are no big surprises when it comes to the plot. It's a light read for when you want to feel good and relax.
There's one scene, before they got together, that made me extremely uncomfortable and I had to skip it altogether - I won't spoil it, you'll understand which one I'm talking about when you read it - but other than that it was an enjoyable read.
An ARC of this book was kindly provided to me in exchange for an honest review.
