ARC Review :Fracture (Unbreakable Bonds #6) by Jocelynn Drake and Rinda Elliott

After three years, Snow and Jude’s relationship is still passionate and strong. They’re getting ready for a romantic vacation at home when Jude receives a horrifying call no one wants to receive. His youngest brother was found barely clinging to life. While Jude’s family is rallying around Jordan, Jude is determined to find out what happened to him.

Snow and Jude follow the clues, investigating a side of Jordan’s life none of them knew about…and is far darker than any would have believed possible. They get pulled deeper into the seedy side of life, while echoes from a past Snow thought he walked away from return to offer an unexpected insight into the cause of Jordan’s injuries.

But someone else has noticed their involvement and is furious, putting them both in danger. The risk is high but so is Jude’s determination to find the truth—though the knowledge could very well fracture his heart.

Christelle's rating :

Another opportunity of spending a good time with my book-friends, namely the unbreakable bound team, with a focus on Jude and Snow, the couple I tag as “intense” ? Of course, I couldn’t pass. During the past three years, I’ve been following this series and yes, I’m a fan and am not tired of it.

What do I enjoy in this series ? For me, the balance between action, hot sex and romance is perfect. I also enjoy the sense of humor (duct tapes and codenames : it works every time, LOL) and the banter. And icing on the cake : a strong sense of friendship.

It’s not a standalone for me : it would be hard to get the bond between all the characters imo. This is the 6th book (not counting the novellas…so it might actually be the 10th book), with all our characters in a good place with their plus-one.

After all the ordeal they previously went through and the excitement of Lucas and Andrei’s wedding (fan-girling here : Lucas and Andrei are my favorites and Blaze was my favorite instalment so far), life is back to “normal”.

That is, until Jude, while ready to spend a few days of needed vacations with Snow, receives a phone call : his little brother, Jordan, is at the hospital in a critical condition after a brutal attack. Is Jordan going to survive ? And what happened to him ? Jude is unsettled and Snow makes it his mission to be there for his lover.

OK, after a while, the plot went a bit cray-cray for me and the subplot was wrapped up a bit too fast and in a way that felt a bit too much like what happened in the first book but with less sense, but did I care ? Nope because the intensity and hotness between Jude and Snow are there aplenty, the amusing and swooning moments are also there and the appearances of the other members of this group are always a delight (and never enough, LOL).

I had a very entertaining time catching up with my book-friends and will be there for the next gathering around Rowe and Noah !!!
