Jewel's rating:

Tried & True is the last novel in the THIRDS series before it spins off into the new TIN series. That makes things a touch bittersweet, for me, since I'm still not sure about sending Destructive Delta to TIN. TIN strikes me as an organization that's more "the ends justify the means", to me, and well...I hate to see this very beloved team get sent down that road. But we'll see how it goes. I fully intend to give the new series a chance.
In Tried & True, Sloane and Dex are finally getting ready for their wedding and, of course the honeymoon that follows, but their enemies don't take breaks. Our guys don't even have time to take a breath because they are working against the clock to bring their enemy down and keep their loved ones safe. I so enjoy watching Sloane and Dex get their Alpha on. I'm also rather enjoying seeing the changes in Dex. I really want to know how much further that plotline goes.
The story, while still mostly THIRDS in feel, is transitioning in tone. It's getting a little more ruthless, a little less 'by the book'. Destructive Delta has been unleashed and their previous limits are becoming a bit more flexible.
But we still get humor and silliness from the usual suspects. We still get plenty of emotion expressed -- they're not hardened TIN agents just yet. We get hot and tender smexy--times. And Dex & Sloane get their hard earned happy! Amazingly enough. However, this is THIRDS, so you know things...don't always go to plan.
I enjoyed Tried & True, quite a lot. I've loved this series and their adventures and the silly OTT Dexter Daley style and I think their send off to the new series was done well! If you're a THIRDS Nerd, I think you'll enjoy Tried & True.
