From the blurb:
Sean Hutchins is having the worst day of his life…
After losing what he thought was his dream job, Sean Hutchins walks away to suddenly find not only his professional life, but also his personal life, falling apart. Seeking comfort in his best friend Cassie, the last person Sean expects to run into is Cassie’s big brother—and Sean’s long time crush—Cal.
Cal is supposed to be on vacation visiting his baby sister, not babysitting her and her best friend, Sean. And he definitely is not supposed to be staring at Sean’s hot ass. But after spending some time with the guy, Cal finds himself having confusing feelings for him.
Should Cal act on his attraction? And can Sean find a way to put back the broken pieces of his heart and his life?
Very cute writing for a newbie author!
Would I have liked more substance and more character development? Sure. Of course. This book is too short and the pace is too fast to accomplish everything that it tries to do, but I think the bones of a good story are there.
I really liked the character of Sean. I'm sort of a sucker for an underdog, so Sean with his butt-face of a boyfriend was just my style. Cal... a little less so. I didn't really get his 180 from boyfriend-a-phobic to Mr. Relationship. It was too forced for my liking, too rushed to be believable.
Though this book has some flaws, it was a fun read, and it made me smile. More importantly, the writing was GOOD, though I think a longer story would suit this author more. I'll be looking for more from Lee Barrows in the future.
