Book Review: Carte Blanche by Nash Summers

Carte Blanche
This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Love’s Landscapes" event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.

Todd’s rating:

I loved, loved, LOVED this short *FREE* story.

Jude's severe OCD forces him to bleach and scrub his *entire* apartment, multiple times daily, when his well-ordered existence tips even slightly away from the norm.

So when Jude's quiet, elderly neighbor across the hall moves away and is replaced by an extremely attractive and persistent young man, Devin, with designs on becoming his friend (and possibly more), Jude's entire world is thrown into shambles. Repeatedly.

This book was all about slowly facing your fears in order to become the person that you want to be, living the kind of life that you want to lead.

I completely ADORED the scenes where Devin (annoyingly) bounced a ball against Jude's door, from across the hallway, until he answered, then they each sat in their own doorway and began to open up to one another.

That then led to many shared meals, delivered by skateboard from doorway to doorway, and actual feelings, not the least of which being bravery on Jude's part.

I loved that Jude put in the time, doing the hard work, to make himself better, without any *Magical Penis* injecting 'OCD Craze-Away' [insert squeaking bed spring sounds here] to solve his very serious mental health issues.

Crazy amazing story, with tons of cute, megatons of feels and even a bit of sexiness -- once Devin cleaned his apartment so that it didn't make Jude's skin crawl. hehe

I really can't recommend this short *FREE* story enough.

So 4.5 *Nash-knocked-it-out-of-the-park* stars. Well done.
